4 days left

Well it seems just about everything is done. Met with the minister one last time to go over the ceremony. Met with Sandee the venue lady (more or less the cordnator) and made the final payment and decisions, like linen colors and locations of certain items/events--where the cake will be, the guest book, and so on. I pretty much got my hair and make-up figured out. I have a lady for make-up and a lady for hair. The hair lady will be coming to my house the morning of the wedding. The make-up lady, however will not (I really wanted to find someone that could come to my house also, but I had a hard time just finding a make-up lady in general). The make up lady has apt later, so what was decided is the girls & I will go in shifts to get our make-up done starting at 9am and it only takes about 20 minutes to do the make-up. So hopefully this works out smoothly. The girls and I will get dressed at the venue, we will arrive there at 12noon and after everyone is dressed we will take photos, probably around 1 or so. The groom and groomsmen will arrive at around 1:30 and then at 2 is the wedding. It's all pretty planned out and ready to go. I can't think of much else that needs to be done. Aunt Char had a friend of her's make a flower girl basket and card basket for me. She also tied a bow on the cake cutter/server (she's great at making bows!) Char is coming on Friday and will bring those items. The rehersal is at 6 and we will have dinner after.
The only thing I can think of off the top of my head that I need to do is call Summer, my sis in law, to ask if I could borrow her purse thing she used for her wedding for the money dance. This can be my something borrowed.
I still haven't gotten any pictures from the napa shower. I will post those when I get them.
I started packing for the honeymoon. I am very excited to go on the cruise to hawaii!! Tomorrow is my last day of work then, I am officially on vacation until the 29th. 20 days off work and I'm going to get paid! I have a large amount of vacation time the has been accumilating for a long time. I've never used any vacation time so I figured its time to use start using it! most everything has been done. I need to check some of those wedding website checklist to see if I have forgotten anything. That's a fear of mine, that I'm going to forget something big. I keep getting asked if I'm nervous or if I have cold feet yet. I don't, and I'm not really nervous, just anxious for it to be here already, and really excited! All the planning is almost over and it's just about here! I hope it all goes well and that everyone makes it the wedding ok and that the wheather will be nice. Wish me luck =)

19 days left, and counting

Since my last update, I had my napa birdal shower. It was really nice to see all the aunts and family in that area! I haven't been email any pictures of that yet, so when I get them I will post them.

Russell and I finished the favors this week. We got the marriage lisence last thursday. It was kind of exciting. expensive, but exciting. It costs 64.00 for a marriage lisence in our county. We don't even get to keep that paper either, after the wedding the pastor will turn it in and we will have to pay 14.00 more dollars to get a certified copy if we want one, which i do.

Russell's mom got a large frame and a large matt with a 8x10 picture in it. The large matting area around the photo is for guests to sign on the wedding day for a sort of guest book kind of thing, but we will also have a guest book. The wedding venue owner told us about this and said that she's been seeing that alot lately. I really like the idea, so we're doing it. Today we chose what photo is going to go in the frame.

We have to meet the minister one more time, in 2 thursdays from now, to go over the entire ceremony. and on the 3rd of march we meet with the venue owner, Sandee to go over everything! She told us if we go over everything before the rehersal will go more smoothly. Also on that day we will make the final payment.

Lately we've been buying some nice clothes for the dinners on our honeymoon cruise to Hawaii. Soon the packing will begin. I already have a mental checklist of things not to forget and what to bring.

Since Russell is still laid off, we can't buy a house like planned, or even rent any apartment/house because he isn't technically employed. Since he is on unemployment until his company gives him a call, we could technically try to move into one of the welfare apartments, but thats not a really good neighborhood. So we have to live with one of our parents for a few months. This will help us save some money for our own place. We really want to buy a house, so hopefully we will have better luck this year with that. Now we just have to choose which parent to live with....that's the hard part. Neither of us can decide and its getting close. Maybe we should just toss a coin! It's not an ideal sittuation, it's actually the sittuation we were trying to avoid--living with our parents after we get married, but that's life. Hopefully it will only be for a few months and then we'll really be on our own.

I had a makeup lady, not sure if I still do. It was Russell's mom's hair lady. She does make-up too. She said its better to do the make-up before the hair, which I don't understand why. To me it seems it should be the other way around because I would think the makeup would need to be touched up before the wedding if applied to early. Anyways, she wanted to do the make up before our hair and I was planning and on doing it after, right before going to the venue to get dressed and ect. I have my hair lady coming to my house in the morning at either 8 or 9am I believe, so that wouldn't work. and she has another appointment at 10am to color someone's hair. I was going to go over to the venue at 12 noon to finish getting ready. The wedding doesn't start until 2, I guess I don't really need to be there that early, but I think it might take a while, plus that's when the florist told me she was going to be there. So, Im most likely going to be looking for a new make-up artist and I have no idea where to look. I could go into salons and see if anyone does make-up, or try google to see if that helps me. I have no idea. I just hope it works out and I get someone to do my make up!

Wish me luck!

I will post another update soon! =) hopefully with some shower pictures

Manteca Bridal shower

The Manteca Bridal Shower pictures:

Overdue Update

It's been a while since I added anything here. I'm not real good at blogging. I don't update this thing quite often enough. I'm going to try to be better at this. I'm going to try to post an update at least once a week or so. Shouldn't be too hard since there isn't a whole lot of time left.

We have a little over a month. About 5 weeks left. Most everything is taken care of or is planned for. I still need to find someone to do my make up for the day of, and we need to finish putting the favors together (Im not telling what they are!), and make some place cards. There isn't going to be assigned seating, there is just going to be 'reserved for brides family' or 'reserved for grooms family' on the front few tables. Makes it easier that way, less writting. On Wednesday I went to the eye doctor, for contacts. The begining of this next week the trials should come in. I got my bussell (not sure on the spelling on that word) done on my dress and its all ready for the big day. The groom and most of the groomsmen have been fitted for their tuxes. I still need to get dad fitted. That one is my fault. I keep forgetting to give mom and dad that address to the tux place. All the bridesmaids have their dresses and shoes (YAY!) . I bought them jewelery to wear for the big day. Russell and I got the wedding party gifts as well. Flower girl still needs a dress, next week I'm going with her and her mother to find a dress. I bought a sash/ bow thing in my color to go on the flower girl dress. I have all of my jewelery and accessories done. My Bachelorette party--more of a girls day kind of thing, is booked and planned. We are going to have a spa day!!! My future Mother in Law bought us toasting glasses and she made me a garter using ribon that matches my color blue Im using in the wedding. I will need to take a picture and put it up on here. It's really nice.
As of today 71 people have RSVPed. I am my father's daughter and I have a nice spread sheet kind of thing I made to keep track of the RSVP's and the food orders. This way I can print it out and give it to Sandee, the owner of the Venue. We meet with her 10 days before for the final payment and to go over everything, all the details and make sure everything is figured out. I need to get one last hair cut, I keep forgeting to call. I was suppose to call on monday, but that obviously hasn't happened. I'm lucky I get 2 bridal showers. I have a Manteca Shower and a Napa shower. The Manteca is mostly friends and such and the Napa one is mostly family. I had my Manteca shower about a month ago, in the begining of January and The Napa shower is tomorrow. I have picture to post from the the Manteca shower. I will post that in another post. We're getting really excited for the honeymoon! 2 week cruise to Hawaii!!! We started getting some nice clothes for the dinners on the boat and I printed the Boarding passes and luggage tags. We're excited for the wedding too! Time has gone by very fast!!!
will post again soon =)

Got a DJ finally!

I guess 3rd time really is the charm! originally we were going to use the same DJ a friend of ours had at their wedding, but he is doing a band thing now and wasn't available on our date. So we didn't worry much about it because at the time we still had alot of time. Later a neighbor's co-worker did DJ-ing and a band on the side and we met with him. He seemed nice enough and knew what he was doing. He couldn't give me a quote until he knew how many hours he was going to be there, so he gave me his email and I emailed him the plan of events, a kind of timeline so he knew what to expect and he was suppose to email me back. He never did. So I called Sandee, she owns and runs the place where we are having the ceremony and reception. She recommended a DJ to us, his name is Fernando. We met with him, and we both really like him. We gave him a deposit to save the date and he signed a contract saying he will be there on our day. He gave 4 or 5 CD with popular songs for the first dance, father/daughter dance, mother/ son dance, wedding party marches, wedding marches and so on. It is really helpful. So I am happy I can cross that off my list of the many things I still need to do. It's also good the this DJ and my lady, Sandee have worked together many times so he know the area and where to set up and how things work at that venue. One less thing for me to worry about.

Merry be-lated Christmas!

Hope everyone's Christmas was a good one! It was nice to be stress-free for a while and to relax and enjoy time with friends and family! Andy was home and it was nice to see him! He's back to S.F. now until New years Eve (Summer is with him and we are dog sitting) Then he goes back to S.F. on Jan. 3rd and will be shipped off to Kuwait sometime after the 3rd for about 9 months, or so they say. Please pray for him and his troop and our family.

wedding update:

we got the Bridal shower invites (the manteca shower) sent out in the first week of December and the shower is the 9th of January. It's coming up soon. Crystal, My Matron of Honor (megan is my Maid of Honor--my sister) made the invitations and they were really cute. I will take a picture and post on here later. I don't want to give away what she's making for favors, but its something to hold some chocolate kisses in and they are very cute!
I got all the wedding invitations printed up, and all the response cards printed up. I am going to print the address on the envelopes, I've done one already. This way no one's hands will be aching later. I bought some paper to use to make some place cards. We aren't going to have place cards for everyone just make a few that will say "reserved for the brides family" or grooms family or something like that. Again trying to prevent aching hands. I'm going to try to get all invitations sent out soon, hopefully by the first week of the year. I'm still gathering all the addresses. There aren't many that I'm missing. Tomorrow I will print up all the envelopes. I still need to figure out how to put together the directions insert. Dad wrote up some driving directions to the venue coming from different areas and he was a bit long winded (He wrote a whole page!) so I need to edit that! We bought some return address labels so hopefully those will come fast, we will need those before we can send the invitations out!

Don't think I mentioned it before, but we booked our honeymoon! we are going to go on a 2 week cruise to Hawaii with a stop to Mexico on one of the last days. It is a Princess Cruise and Aunt Char says that Uncle George loves Princess. Hopefully we will too! Russell ordered his Passport and should recieve it in Febuary. I already have one from when I went the cruise to Alaska with my parents, megan, and Aunt Char. We will be leaving on our honeymoon the very next day. We board the boat between 1-3pm. The boat leaves from LA, so we will be leaving after the wedding and driving at least part way or possibly the whole way and sleeping in in the morning. We've already discussed it and he's driving so it depends on when and where he stops.

All my bridesmaids now have there dresses and shoes, I finally picked out some shoes for my girls! I bought a sash/bow thing for the flowergirl, the color I wanted wasn't in the store so I had to order it, and it will come in at the end of Febuary. I Still need to get a flower girl dress. I was told a store to look at for the flowergirl dress that I will be looking at later on.

The Napa shower will be on Febuary 6th at Aunt Char's house and next time Char comes to manteca Megan and I will help her do the invitations.

On one of my wedding websites it has a countdown of how many days I have left, and I have 74 days left. That doesn't seem like that many days..its getting really close! I still have a lot to do, but today I feel like I got a lot done. So for now I am satisfied.

Registered at Macy's yesterday

Went Registering at Macy's yesterday with Megan. She told me I was scan-happy. It's fun! Almost ready to send out invitations soon, same with bridal shower invites. There will be 2, one in Manteca and one in Napa at Aunt Char's place. I have a possible DJ. possible, because it depends on how much he's going to charge, he's suppose to email me a quote soon. I don't think I mentioned before that Russell and I met with the Cake guy, and planned out the whole cake. PLUS we got to eat cake! He made 3 small cakes- one white, one yellow, and one chocolate- with different fillings, frostings, they were all delicious and he was able to duplicate a design I liked from a plate pattern I saw (and registered for at Macy's!). I'm very happy with what I saw and ate! I still need to get alot done, it's getting really close! I have 2 more weeks left of this semester, so hopefully after that I will be able to get more done and focus more on planning the wedding! Wish me luck for finals! I'm going to need it!!
